A reflection for the second Sunday of Easter, focussing on this weeks Gospel, John 20:19-31
Jesus came amongst the disciples and said
Peace be with you –
Peace after the trials of Holy Week;
Peace after all the confusion and misunderstanding;
Peace after the loss of a dear teacher, brother and friend;
Peace in the uncertainty of what the resurrection of the Lord meant for them.
Jesus comes amongst us and says
Peace be with you –
Peace after the trials of lockdown and restrictions;
Peace after isolation from loved ones;
Peace where our lives will never be the same again;
Peace in the uncertainty of what life will be like as pandemic rules are relaxed.
Jesus came amongst the disciples
and he comes amongst you and me –
and says Peace be with you.
