A pantoum based on John 3:14-21, the Gospel for this Sunday (Lent 4, Yr B)

When Jesus comes to us as an act of love –
we’re used to a society that loves to judge.
In every aspect of our lives in how we look and what we do or say –
life’s a competition, full of hierarchy ladders.

We were used to a society that loves to judge –
but said Jesus, I’ve come to show a better way.
Life’s a competition, full of hierarchy ladders –
God unties the chains that hold us in darkness.

But said Jesus, I’ve come to show a better way –
we must decide if we stay in darkness or move into the light.
God unties the chains that hold us in that dark, dark place –
it’s a beautiful opportunity to change our mindset.

We must decide if we stay in darkness or move into the light –
in every aspect of our lives, how we look and what we do or say.
It’s a beautiful opportunity to change our mindset –
when Jesus comes to us as an act of love!
